I know! Just one? Are you sure? Yes, I am. I have been using it for a couple of years now. I switched to it when I decided to ditch all the chemical-based creams one winter after reports about cosmetics companies using carcinogenic chemicals in their products.

But hey! It wasn't easy finding it. I have very, very, very dry skin, so it wasn't something I could switch to easily. I actually stumbled upon it as a makeup remover. I use a lot of kohl, eyeliner, and kajal on my eyes (not all together), and though I like to put them on when I leave my house in the morning, I'm not the kind who keeps checking it again and again during the day. Long story short, in the evening, I look like a panda! So, I needed something that was intense yet gentle because I didn't want to scrape my eyes with cotton every time I cleaned them. Surprisingly, it performed well.

When it worked as a wonderful makeup remover, I decided to use it as a replacement for my night cream. Now, I'm not into cosmetic routines, but like I said, it was winter, so I needed something. The results were fantastic. It almost erased all signs of exhaustion, tiredness, and aging from my skin overnight! It heals the skin from within.

So then, I finally started wearing it all day long. These days, I use it as a post-shower application and makeup base for that lovely dewy effect on the skin without the greasiness or fake sheen that other products give. It works extremely well with smoky or winged eyeliner and nude lips. It also looks stunning with a pale face and matte red lips. There's more—it works as a shield for my skin, protecting it. Since all the other products are applied over it, when I finally wash all the makeup off, I'm left with my original skin—undamaged!

So, you're keen to know what it is? Many of my friends already know because I have recommended it to everyone I meet. It is—drum roll, please—Almond Oil. Any brand will do, really. These days, you can easily find organic, cold-pressed, wood-pressed, etc., which are all great to use.

Recent update: I have been on this oil regimen for more than a decade now, and I cannot stress enough how well it works! At 45 years old, my skin has never been better. I keep getting compliments on how the signs of aging have been arrested and how it glows. Though, I did switch oils a few months back, so I have been using coconut oil these days, and that works as well as almond oil.
