Many of us sometimes go too deep into the rabbit hole with marketing and promotions that we keep forgetting the true essence of what we are doing. While this may seem weird, it is widespread with new business owners trying to bring in more customers. It does not speak about who you are but just shows your passion for the work you do.
Maintaining authenticity and being yourself while running a business can sometimes be challenging. Especially with online yoga classes, authenticity becomes one of your main selling points yet somehow difficult to maintain. So, what do you do when your business requires you to be authentic?
Here are four simple ways to make sure you are authentic and good with business simultaneously!
Connect it back to the why
When we get into business with ourselves, we do it out of passion and thought something was lacking in the world. There is always going to be a "why" to your business. This "why" could be making yoga more accessible or making people aware of the benefits a particular form of yoga has, or it could also be as simple as sharing your knowledge with others. Before you start, figure out the "why". From that point on, make sure every decision you make, every post you make, every marketing strategy you have is associated with that "why". Are you wondering how to find your "why"? Check out our blog on how to identify your brand's essence by clicking here! This will make sure that you are moving in the right direction and help you ensure the authenticity of your business.
Just be yourself
Sometimes, when we are in front of a crowd or a camera, we become conscious about ourselves. We start trying to be the person everyone wants us to be. While this is very common, especially now when everything is online, it is essential to remember that you are your brand! So, you need to be authentic for your brand to be authentic. If you are scared about facing the camera, check out our blog on "The Five T's of facing the camera" by clicking here.
Remember, yoga is more than business!
Now I am just stating the obvious, aren't I? Well, sometimes, the obvious needs to be said out loud! Remember what yoga is to you. Remember that you are trying to pass on that same essence and connection you have with yoga to other people. Remember why yoga is so important to you! In the process of realising the place of yoga in your life, you will also learn what needs to be a part of your business and what does not!
Remember, it is a learning curve.
Now, I have given you all these ideas. However, in the end, we are all humans and are bound to hit some bumps in the road from time to time. Just make sure you do not get discouraged when this happens. New business is a learning curve. You make mistakes, you learn from them, and you get better. As long as you keep going, sharing your wisdom, and bettering other people's lives, you are on the right path. So, just be yourself and spread the light :)
